Multidisciplinary Child Development Minor
Overview:
The Child Development Minor is a multidisciplinary program drawing upon the strengths of four colleges and eight disciplines. Contacts for each department are listed below:
Required Course of Study:
For students wishing to earn the Child Development Minor:
- 18 hours of coursework is required.
- No more than 6 hours may be taken from one department.
- Courses must be selected from at least three different departments, which may include the department of the student’s major.
- Classes may not count towards both the major and minor.
- Together, Independent Study and Special Topics may count for no more than 3 hours in the minor.
- Case Studies in Child Development will be the only required course. Its interdisciplinary focus is designed to give students in the Minor comprehensive insight into the issues of child development.
