Research Programs
Our
goal is to design, evaluate, and implement model programs for at-risk
children and their families.
Most
people know our work through The Hope Connection, which is a summer
day camp for children with special social-emotional needs. We have
offered this summer camp experience in a variety of versions, from
summer of 1999 through summer of 2003. Although we were able in most
cases to have a positive impact on the campers, we too often found
that summer gains were soon lost.
Over
the past two years we have been developing the residential weekend
family camps and intensive home programs, so that our interventions
can have a lasting impact on the adoptive family.
The
TCU Institute of Child Development is not a clinic or service agency;
we only provide services in the context of research and program development.
If
you are interested in any of our programs you can email us at
child@tcu.edu - please be aware that there are a limited number
of spaces available and we have a waiting list.
